Prelude to a Blog

Recently I was assigned by my Grand Reunion Committee to research the significant events that happened in the year of our Graduation. I tried Google and all types of search engines to find out the jeepney and bus fares, price of basic commodities, dollar to peso rates back then. It was very frustrating endeavor which gave me an idea to create a blog that documents significant events here in the Philippines.

Back Home

Nice to be back in the Philippines. At lot has changed since my last time here, that was in August of 2002. The peace and order situation has improved dramatically. Progress can be seen all around, although poverty still is widespread. Traffic is still bad in some places.

Leap of Faith

  Finally decided that I would go back to the Philippines and visit my ageing mother.  I made up my mind around November 2005 to do it, my flight was not till the 20th of January 2006, on Northwest Airlines.

Adjusting

Still adjusting to the weather here in the Phil. it really gets hot.  Don't know what's worse very hot or very cold?  That's me in my Ford Windstar, and there's my Scion tC again.
